Ocean Riviera Resort Destination Wedding Photography & Video - Jody & Jase

Let's start off by saying that Jody & Jase pulled off an EPIC destination wedding - and we had the honour of capturing not only the wedding itself - but a TON of moments in between as evident in some of the sneak peak video and photo clips in this blog.

The cake, flowers, DJ etc. will be gone… but great photographs and video will always be there offering you a return ticket to that special time. It makes good sense to have professionals around you that you can rely on and trust.

We started the project off by incorporating a casual photo session in and around the resort itself prior to the actual wedding day. Jody and Jase having been in front of our cameras before had no issue absolutely crushing these images 🔥

We ended the casual resort session at the beach just past sunset, which with the help of some flash skills, created these artsy warm vacation vibes. We especially loved how willing Jody and Jase were to get into the water for some steamy portraits! Bay Watch anyone?

Destination weddings are a lot of work, correct. The sun, the constant sweating while carrying over 30lbs of equipment each, the sand that somehow finds its way into every body crevasse... Yes, you have to be in pretty good physical shape to manage a fast paced day in the heat - BUT it's absolutely worth it for the unique results!

The wedding Ceremony 😍😍😍

If you're having a destination wedding, you'll want to utilize those tropic sceneries and backdrops. This rooftop patio did exactly that as Jody & Jase said their "i dos" under the sun.

One thing we at VidMedia are known for is our ability to scope out great picture worthy locations and scenes. Having had the chance to explore the resort a few days prior to the wedding day, we knew exactly where to take the bridal party during certain times of day without having to make them trek long distances away from the next reception location.

The reception itself took place right on the beach after sunset under ambient lanterns and palm trees. Fun fact; one of us had food poisoning throughout the entire day - cant tell right?!!! 😂

We don't let anything get in the way of us producing great photos and films 😊

The wedding day ended off with some hearty speeches, some roasts, and even a surprise dance from the bride and some of her bridesmaids - talk about TALENTED 🙌🏼 One of the most difficult things as a photographer is shooting into the night sky but we managed to capture amazing reactions and candids all throughout the evening.
